Mr. Iyer is the Managing Director of Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Limited (MMFSL), which is in the business of financial services for the last 15 years. Mr. Iyer has been associated with MMFSL from its inception.MMFSL has a Rs. 8000+ crore balance sheet with 440 branches spread across the country. The Company has maintained an aggressive growth year on year since its inception.MMFSL is managed by a team of young Managers with employee strength upward of 4500 people. Mr. Iyer is also on the Board of following M&M Group companies-: 1.Mahindra Insurance Brokers Limited (MIBL), which is engaged in insurance broking in both life as well non-life businesses. 2.Mahindra First Choice Wheels Ltd., a firm engaged in purchase and sale of pre-used vehicles. 3.NBS International Ltd. 4.Mahindra Rural Housing Finance Ltd., which is set up to provide mortgage loans in rural India. 5.Mahindra First Choice Services Ltd., a firm engaged in the services of multi range of vehicles through a network of service outlets. 6.Mahindra Business and Consulting Services Private Limited. Mr. Iyer is also on the following committes- 1.Chairman of Banking & Finance Committee of the Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry. 2.Member of core committee of Finance Industry Development Council (FIDC) 3.Member of Taskforce of NBFCs of Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) 4.Co-Chairman of the Group on Finance & Leasing and Insurance of the Council of Economic Affairs set up Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) Mr. Ramesh Iyer was conferred with the following awards;- 1.Udyog Rattan Award by the Institute of Economic Studies, New Delhi 2.Rashtriya Udyog Pratibha Award by the Council for Economic Growth & Research, Pune 3.Bhartiya Udyog Ratna Award by the National Education & Human Resource Development Organisation, Bombay. Music and Reading are his most favourite hobbies.
