A mechanical engineer with specialization in automobile engineering with 37 years of
experience in the manufacturing industry associated with top ranked companies like Hyundai Motors, Mitsubishi Motors, Ashok Leyland & Hindustan Motors limited.

ORGANIZATIONAL EXPERIENCE

HYUNDAI MOTORS INDIA – As an Advisor since April 2010

Worked as Plant Head Operation – Vice President (June 1999 –March 2010)

• As Vice President – Production until March 2010 reporting to the Executive Director, spear headed the passenger car division & the power train plant manufacturing different car models, engines & transmissions of various specifications. Achieved 2.7 million cars of 10 different models under one single roof.

• Realized the full capacity of the plant producing 2300 cars per day i.e.6.3 lakhs cars a year with good quality pass ratio of 95% & production efficiency of 98%.

• In charge of 7000 personnel’s, comprising of 3 unit heads & 4 group heads with 31 team

leaders & 25 expatriate coordinators.

• Effectively managed the press shop, body fabrication, paint shop, trim assembly shop, quality control, production planning control with unique facility for manufacturing engines with machine lines and assembly for engine and transmission aggregates, with 50% equally distributed production for both export & domestic requirements under the same global quality standards.

• In addition was also responsible for utilities, plant maintenance, vendor parts quality & Industrial relations.

• Joined the organization as General manager operations in the year 1999 & grew to the

position of Vice President in 2007.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Ø Produced cars at the rate of 51UPH, which was originally produced at 18 UPH.

Increased the UPH a span of five years gradually from 18 à 20 à 23 à 27 à 31à 33 to 51 UPH.

Ø Steep increase in production from 3 lakh to 6 lakh cars per annum, in the year 2007.

Ø Manufactured & exported 1 million cars to around the globe.

Ø Certified by Hyundai Motor India to manufacture cars & engine aggregates up to 1.8 litre capacity

Ø Implemented the concept of process innovation which encourages every employee to be an innovator in his own area and also the concept of quality school which primarily focused on educating & training production operators & junior engineers in quality concept.
